Signing Up To Energy Company - Moved In New Home

I am moving into a new home and the previous owner is a customer of Octopus. Do I need to sign up with Octopus as continuity or can I sign up with any other energy companies?

You can sign up with any company you choose

Just called Scots Power, they are not signing up new customers. So had to stick with Octopus and is slightly more expensive than Scots Power.

A lot of suppliers aren't accepting new customers but it might be worth checking the comparison sites.
