Could our very good score be anything to do with the fact that this is a very special year for our Queen?
We know that the song usually has nothing to do with the results.

The song usually has a lot to do with the results.
Great sing great singer great performance = lots of votes.
It’s not that complicated really

Some very bad songs have won Eurovision over the years, with much better songs trailing down the bottom end
Just like to report that my previous best for eyebrow raising has been beaten.
Good and bad songs are judged by the ear of the listener. As far as my wife and myself are concerned the UK entry was horrible; clearly we are in the minority.
I’ve just been looking at the results of the televoting.
Ukraine got douze points from 28 of the 40 countries! The UK’s 12 went to Ukraine. Ukraine’s 12 to Poland
Nah Barry - nothing to do with it, the likelihood of Prince Andrew being dispatched to be Governor of Tristan da Cunha probably closer to the mark. Eurovision confuses the hell out of the Americans as here's and election where the winner is determined by who gets the most votes.
Only Malta gave the UK 12.
Among the juries the UK got maximum points from:
Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Czechia, France, Georgia, Germany and Ukraine
It has more to do with his massive on-line following. Internationally popular. In any other year he would have won. Ukraine got the sympathy vote. It was a foregone conclusion this year.
Quite likely but not necessarily.
Ukraine’s televote was so huge they could have afforded to lose many and still won. Equally many of the 250 votes that they were ahead of the UK might have gone to Spain perhaps - who incidentally have not won since they tied with Boom-Bang-a-Bang…
I don't begrudge Ukraine their win. Better still if Putin has a heart attack when he hears the news.
