My lil' bro wants to learn electric guitar but as he tends to give things up after 5 minutes, my parents want to get him a cheap one to begin with to be replaced if he keeps it up for more than a year. Where can they get him a guitar that's is good enough to learn on for a while, but won't break the bank? Preferably online (but not ebay) because the only music shop in the town where they live is a total rip-off!

These starter packs are quite good as they include an amp, instructions etchttp://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/mod_ 1.12/pages/mod_1.12.1/pages/index.php?dep_ref= 1.1.1.1.4

You could also check out on the soundcontrol site if they have a store near you in which case your parents could go down and have a look at one of the starter packs. The staff in our local Soundcontrol are really helpful.
