As a music journalist, I was able to get free tix. for the press area at MK on Monday. I'm from Stoke, so we have a bit of a connection - my eldest daughter had a date with RW before he was famous ...
I took my wife because she is a fan, I'm not fussed to be honest. I adored Basement Jaxx, quite liked Orson. I thought the production of the show was about the nest I've ever seen, and I've seen hundreds of shows. I find Robbie's gurning a little uncomfortable, and he doesn't look well at all.
I know Jonathan Wilkes is his best pal, but really, he is a panto star, and should stick to that - being a couple of Stokies is fun for about one minute, then it gets tedious.
For fans, it was a great night out, I enjoyed seeing my wife enjoy herself, and since it was free (petrol and parking excepted) I shouldn;t moan.
Objectively, it was an excellent show - ditch the cabaret interval and tighten it up Robbie - I don't take my best mate to gigs with me, and he's more appealing than JW!
