A new girl has started in our office and she is a clean freak. She wants us all to bring in a cleaning product so we can all have a deep clean in our office. Well, I do enough of that at home and I simply don't want to get involved with that in the workplace. It's not like we don't have a cleaner either - she does only hoover and empty the bins. How do I get out of this? I don't fancy bringing in my Marigold's whatsoever.
You could also tell her how inappropriate it is for her to be doing the cleaners work while she should be getting on with her work. If she’s not happy with the level of cleanliness she she mention it to the boss and see how they like that!!!
She sounds pretty pushy to have only started in the job. Just refuse or if you feel you need an excuse refer her to your job description (if it doesn't mention cleaning). I'm sure you'll not be the only one to refuse
