Hello,

Can anyone advise me the best way to store vinyl LP’s and singles? I have a number of rock and pop LP’s and singles in their sleeves which are over 20-30 years old and are still like new.

What would be the best way to store them i.e. flat or upright?
What would be the best way of stopping some of the covers yellowing with age?
What are the best storage conditions to keep them in i.e. temperature and light?
Does any one know if there of any kind of protective covers on the market that can be used to protect record sleeves?

Thanks

Where did Saddam Hussein store his Vinyl/LPs/Singles?

In Iraq ---tee hee hee hee heeeeee!

(Doesnt work if you're a septic "eye-raq")
I found my albums of 20 odd years had bent a little while being kept upright because they were on the slant. Put some packing next to them to keep them straight.
keep them in a dark place away from any light to avoid yellowing.
Mine are stacked on top of each other in piles under the settee. Not good probably but many are from the 30s and have no sleeves now, so are mixed in with those from the 50s and 6os that have.Only lost one ( cracked) after 50 years and they all still play, though the grandchildren are bemused by the surface hiss and crackle on "Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" "The birdie in the sycamore tree" etc!
