Should I leave AOL?

As they were the only company offering this at the time, I changed to AOL. What a mistake. AOL treat you a bit like children. They put so many restrictions and barriers up that it was a pain to use.
The first day I got AOL, I set it all up and got it working OK only to find that my normal wireless network would not work unless I forked out about �80 for a router. I was tied to a 12 month contract so I didn't have a choice. When all was working, I e-mailed everyone in my address book to tell them about my change of address - MISTAKE.
I have about 200 people in my address book and AOL interpreted this as a 'mass e-mailing' and promptly suspended my service. Thinking that I had inadvertently done something, I spent the whole day trying in vain to get an internet connection. Only when I phoned AOL as a last resort did they tell me about suspending the account. Apparantly if you send a message to more than 25 people it will be rejected and your account will be suspended.
Eventually, when I managed to get some sense out of the Indian call centre worker, I was given a new password and got it working again.
The problem with the e-mail on AOL is that it is IMAP not POP3 and as such can be a nightmare.
My advice to you would be to avoid AOL like the plague. I am now with Wanadoo (or Orange as they are now known) and enjoy a problem free service with no limits or restrictions on my e-mail

I've got BT Broadband as well and I'd recommend it. It is expensive compared to some, but it's so nice because it just works, simple as that. Plug your computer into the modem, plug the modem into the phone socket and you're online. No fancy pointless rubbish, no treating you like a child or unnecessary hand-holding, only a fast, always on connection. You can get a btinternet.com email address if you want, but you may as well just use Gmail.
