Default avatar for established users

Users can display an avatar once they have been here for more than 14 days with a minimum of 10 postings but some choose to not bother. How about having a different default avatar for such users to distinguish them from the newcomers.

That way it would be immediately obvious that those with the jelly-babies avatar are new users, possibly trolls amongst them, and those with the new default avatar have been using the site for properly for at least a fortnight, and are less likely to be trolls.

Incidentally, we don't talk in whispers on AB :-) Folk are here to help and many of us( myself included) had difficulties in setting-up an Avatar and had to ask questions in the columns of AB and sometimes get the Ed to assist us.

I'm with you, Fitzer. No avatar for me, thank you. In any case, you can find out EXACTLY how long any user has been around by the simple expedient of clicking on their own-choice avatar or on their accompanying jelly babies. In your case, Bibblebub, apparently since 23rd January 2010.
