Two Much Information Here

This past two weeks I have suffered extreme constipation - suffered one there right now and have been trying for two hours. Don't want to tell you what I did but it sorta helped.

Anyway I can't understand as I have been taking my usual food but have noticed that it seemed to have started while I started to take Actimel.

Would the Actimel have caused this? Thanks from a very relieved patient. I feel so weak.

You have always suffered from constipation and yes, Actimil might certainly make it worse.
Stop taking the Actimil.

Plenty of fluids, stool softener or mild laxative

Medicines and supplements affect people in different ways, and if Actimel is the culprit stop taking it. I need something to help my movements and have found Senokot to be good, you must not take them regularly but one a week treats me just fine.

You may remember I had a horrendous bout of constipation some months ago that had me sat on the loo for some hours in agony and resorting to drastic action. Thankfully it was a one off but I give my oldster Movitol once a day, prescribed by GP.
See how it goes, get some Senokot in your cupboard and keep Movitol in mind if you need long term help.
Movitol can also be used for impaction

Actimel now in the bin

Lactulose seems to suit me. Quite gentle.

I suffer due to cocodamol and take Lactulose each morning. Gentle and effective.
