No, tantp, I typed mentality because that's what I meant. As I see it the royals are becoming more accessible than ever before and they're interacting more than ever before. They are not remote figures seen only on special occasions as they once were. William and Kate and their children were very visible during lockdown - speaking to people by video link - standing outside applauding the NHS with the rest of the nation - and publishing images of the family doing family things - all of which, I think, had a positive impact on the public and did much to boost morale at a time when it was very much needed.
The 'German' argument is superfluous, silly - and actually rather bitter.
