Have just been to the coast although couldn’t let Littlelegs off to run as dogs are banned between May 1st and September 30th, the amount of people going in the sea both to swim and to surf were loads, sadly no waves for the surfers but it certainly wasn’t swimming weather, one girl in a bikini too, brrrr

"The gulf stream 'licks' that end of Cornwall and makes it subtropical. The sea is still bloody freezing.
Nothing better than a cold water swim
Do you often swim in cold water, RH? I can think of little worse than that.
Try the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Town if you want cold water swimming. I could only go in far as my ankles. Yet there were people splashing around as if it was the Mediterranean. Brr!
Cloverjo,
Isn't there an added danger off the coast of South Africa, sharks?
Naomi,
You'd think the people running those diving trips would know the number they took out and count those they were bringing back.

Shark diving is big in South Africa - with divers in cages.

Egypt isn't big on health and safety, sandyRoe - in any respect. The boats have a couple of crew who handle the boat, cook lunch and basically leave the divers to it really. It's all very friendly though.
