Alcohol Swabs Or Wipes

Why can I get these easily from Amazon, eBay and countless online suppliers...but if I check Boots website, they don't exist?

Pre injection alcohol wipes. At Amazon ?

Getting hold of those wipes on the High Street has never been easy. I faced the same problem when, back in pre-internet days, I was in charge of first aid in a secondary school. High Street pharmacies never seemed to stock them, meaning that I always had to order them through (expensive) specialist suppliers of first aid equipment. (The 'expensive' bit there was important to me, as the school never had enough money to buy all of the necessary first aid stuff, meaning that I often had to pay for it out of my own pocket!).

When I was having to self-inject at home a couple of years ago, during my chemo treatment, I simply used a bottle of surgical spirit and a bag of cotton wool balls to clean around the injection site beforehand. I now continue to use those two things together to remove the goo left on my skin when I change my HRT patches twice a week.

I was given to believe they were pretty much a thing of the past, especially after the advent of the 48 hour deodorant for those saving on the water bill proved that germs have been defeated.

...or a litre bottle of isopropyl alcohol will do a couple of thousand skin wipes, with cotton wool or tissues. (I always have plenty of this stuff in the house - so useful for so many things).

This thread has given me a few laughs. Points to LadyLaLa for effort.
I use the swabs primarily when i do my nails under the heat lamp. They are also useful for getting mealybugs off off houseplants.
Maybe high street stores think druggies use them...anything is possible.
I'll just order from Amazon as usual.
