Why Are All My Disasters Water Related?

Yesterday we had a problem with the water softener. Discharging gallons of water over the patio. Son in law came round and sorted it out.
Today OH had his shower, went to turn shower off, it wouldn't stop, water turned to freezing, he got out quick! Had to turn the water off. SIL came round again tonight. He couldn't fix it, said a valve had gone.
Have to go to Gloucester in the morning and buy a new one.
What is next inline for us I wonder!
