We had the Jubilee celebrations last week. The whole country spent millions on it. This week, here in Manchester, we've been overwhelmed with concerts; Ed Sheeran; The Killers; Alicia Keyes; Parklife; Soccer Aid. Clearly, ITV don't think there is any poverty and clearly neither does anyone else. The figure at the end of the game was £15 million. Like I've said before, yer all loaded! Poverty my armpit!

10C is right, 60k + at Soccer Aid, the same and more at the concerts. These are not royalty just ordinary folk with leisure money to spend as normal. The cost of living might be going up but it doesn’t appear to be the crisis the media wish it to be.
I’m not even going to attempt saying the revenue theRF bring in, as long as their demise ( if ever) doesn’t happen in my lifetime then I’ll go on supporting the UK having The Royal Family….always
Agree Maydup!
The last I saw it cost each taxpayer 64p a year
Noticeably those that call them don’t hit on people like Philip Green, Mike Ashley , there’s 177 billionaires in the UK alone , P Green stays on his multi million pound yacht , if he steps on land here, they’ll get him for unpaid taxes, I find people like Barney , hit on the soft target
This appears to have morphed into (yet another) "ditch the Royal Family" thread.

While the Family have been rather dysfunctional in some cases, the Head has shown herself to be significantly hard-working at well past the normal retirement age. This admirable quality has enamoured her to many otherwise anti-Royalty folk, so I am certain that while she remains Queen the Royal Family will thrive.

Whether Charles will be able to sustain this is open to question, although his rebuttal of Andrew's recent pleas shows a welcome slice of Good Sense.

Charles' millstone of course is the Camilla Affair, but the next in line (William) seems unblemished so far.

God Save The Queen

there's no billionaire expects me to bow when i meet him or pay for a new roof on his palace or a new deck on his yacht. all I am trying to say is with people in genuine need ain't it all a bit obscene in a modern world for normal hard working people to be 'ruled over' by a family who hardly lead by example of how to behave. before you all start o.k I wish not one of them any harm just go and get a job in the real world..
Capital letter after a full stop please, barney
64p per taxpayer! my neighbour had a stroke and was told there is a 7 hour wait for a ambulance when she arrived there by car had to manouvere through 9 ambulances waiting to discharge patients. she still in hospital now 3 weeks later. wonder how many ambulances 64 pence each would fund. look you bow and scrape and wave your flags! fill your boots.. and I will put full stops. wherever. I. want..
and caPital letters..
A miniscule percentage of the UK were able to afford to attend a concert (or two) and/or a charity football match, while many at home were able to afford to donate at least a tenner. And from that you deduce that poverty does not exist? Wow! Just wow!
Queen Elizabeth works a lot harder than that pillock who sleeps on the Front Bench - how much does he cost the country, including of course his vast expenses. Not to mention all his mates at Westminster, screwing the public for their second homes.

I wonder how many ambulances that would fund.
The n.h.s in Wales is in a desperate state, worse than England, so they have come up with a plan! Let's increase the members of the sennedd by 30 more, all on 80.000 pounds a year, oh and we may have to build a new parliament in Cardiff Bay so we got room for us all. you couldn't make it up.. keep your voice down in the house of Lords, members must be allowed to doze..
