Why Is U K The No1 Target For Migrants?
17 Answers
People tell me that we don't have the best benefits, our own 5C tell me everyday how bad the UK is. We are not in the EUSSR. Surely these migrants would be better off applying in any of the countries they pass through. I just can't understand why they want to come here.

Having established that the UK doesn't register a blip on the scale of "most refugee-inhabited" countries, I tried to find evidece that it is nonetheless the No 1 target for migrants, and, as before, I find that it is not.
In 2015 the UK ranked ninth in Europe for asylum applications. No 1 was Germany with ten times as many.
And the UK has the highest refusal rate of any country.
What we do have however is a location across the sea which no doubt at least partially explains why we are actually less attractive and less populated by refugees. This also makes illegal attempts to enter our country particularly hazardous, and perhaps also particularly spectacular.
None of the above tho begins to address the issue of what to do about it.
