Can Anyone Help, Question About Delivery Of A Parcel..

I ordered some exercise equipment from a online store and have changed my mind about it (my fault I know I’m being a nuisance)

I emailed the company to cancel the delivery/obtain a refund but it has already been shipped.

I emailed the company and the woman I spoke to said that I could refuse the delivery (in which case it should naturally be returned to them) or I could accept and send back at my own expense. Eitherway a refund can take up to 14 days after they receive it.

I’m just thinking if I refuse it could it get lost/or end up waiting in a delivery office for some time and end up untraceable?
Is it safer to accept and send back?

Just refuse delivery.
I would accept, other than that it may confuse things altogether.
Toughie. If you accept delivery, you'll likely have to pay for return postage, but you'll be in charge of the return with a receipt from the courier/Post Office. If you refuse delivery, you can legit say you never received it and hope a refund comes that way after the company have done their due diligence.

I'd probably refuse delivery unless returns are free.
Refuse delivery. If there's no evidence you received it, you can't be charged for it.
Does the delivery company use a tracker? If so refuse it and it will clearly indicate your refusal to accept on the tracker.
Would imagine exercise equipment would be very expensive to return yourself.
