Sometimes i swear at the radio and the TV and in private about things people do. Some people seem to swear in conversation and others think it is a wrong thing to do. Is it acceptable and do Abers do it?.

It is very difficult not to sometimes. How can you not swear when you're asking the referee how on Earth he missed that handball? Or when berating a jockey who drops his whip when in contention in the last half furlong?
I knew a guy whose worst oath was "Spiders on toast!"

Same at TV and Radio not in company/public, I did use to loosely, but purposely stopped when a youngster picked up on it, now it’s second nature not to. Also on occasion when I do it has the desired effect and an impact because I don’t swear.

Yes, in my head I am swearing at person/thing that has annoyed me but never in public.

When I'm angry or in certain company I can be a bit of a potty mouth but I never swear in front of children including little Tigs and my parents. That would be inappropriate IMO.

I hear it on public transport and when out and about in front of children and that makes me cringe too.

We've been watching 'Ozark' on Netflix, & what I can't understand is that though the script is very good - quite intellectual & literate at times - it's interspersed with a very large quantity of expletives from all sexes & ages.

I remember the awkward moment when watching TV with my parents and Kenneth Tynan became the first person to use the F word on the air.

Given the culture of the time, it was quite embarrassing, but nobody in the room mentioned it so I even began to wonder if it even happened ("Mum, did that guy just say ***" - I can imagine the reaction).

How standards have slipped since those far-off halcyon days.

I swear all the time. It's just part of normal conversation on site/in the pub around here. Try not to in other circumstances but it still slips out from time to time.
