I think that the German Shepherd is the most gorgeous and intelligent of breeds. Seeing a furry Police Dog missile flying through the air and stopping a criminal is enjoyable to watch because they seem to really enjoy their work.

Her coat is amazing after her beauty appointment.

We have had a few GSDs, wolf. Used to take them out in the morning, in the countryside, with favourite dog-grooming rake. That used to permeate the coat and then I would cast the "fluff" to the wind which would catch on the bushes. Ideal when the birds were nesting.

I can remember well rubbing that bit of their coats just behind the ears, my fingers would sink into beautiful hair, soft as down. Such lovely memories of every one of them.

My two boys were 50% GSDs. They were very protective of me but they were lovely dogs.
It has been 20 years since the second one died. I then got a cat and the rest is history.

When I used to meet up with a group of fellow dog walkers there was one lady with a huge gsd. He was obsessed with his balls, and would carry several at a time. He only had eyes for his owner...a bitty woman...and never greeted anyone else.

I've had two long haired German Shepherds and they do need a lot of grooming...worth it though. :-)
