How often do you turn your mattress?
The recommended advice on our new one was to turn it every fortnight. Is there anybody around who is that organised (or robust enough that they can do it single-handed?)

What?!!!..... not a chance - I live on my own & mine get's turned about every 6 months. Last time I did it I got stuck & looked out to see whether my friend was home across the road but her car wasn't there (pointless anyway as I couldn't get to the door - don't suppose she'd have been willing to shin up the porch & climb in through the window)
In the end I just had to 'go for it' - nearly catapulted myself through the aforementioned window!!
I too tried to turn my mattress on my own and ended up wedged between mattress and window sill. Its definitely a two man or woman job.
I must have muscles like Elmo then! I turn mine once a month and vacuum it.It has grips on the sides and at the bottom .I pull it halfway down the bed and then flip it backwards towards the headboard so it's up against the wall.I then pull it from the bottom and it lands the other way up onto the base.Makes a huge thwack when it lands though !! It's pure logic .I have never been able to understand why people get in a tither with duvet covers either :)

Same here, once a month but I must confess not by me but by grandaddyg. He vacuums it, the headboard and under the bed as well.

Once every six months, but I turn it head to foot and then sideways over.

......shuffles off, feeling inadequate.....
robinina, dont feel inadequate, I turned my mattress over and wondered why it felt awful, on reading the leaflet !!! afterwards, found out you only turn it round NOT over. I am inclined not to bother at all but do change the sheets more than twice a year. I think ????
hehe, thanks reffgt but I've got a mental image of shaneystar flipping the mattress with one hand & juggling the pillows with the other and a feather duster between her teeth!
'no turn' mattresses sound like a good idea...
Now come on Robinia ...you forgot to mention the microfibre duster tucked behind my ear !
I'll send my butler round to help you ..that should be a laugh !
I love all the answers you give, its really great to think some folks have the same sort of problems, but whats with the dusters bit, must have forgotten what they do, as got to the stage when I have to think !!! what to do next, oh yes, dust.??? gee all this housework.
Well that proves that shaneystar is Anthea Turner - perfect housewife. BTW I also steam my mattresses when turned, the kingsize about every 3 months and daughter's single once a month. I also use a mattress cover, and they are pristine. (Hate stained mattresses, in fact I hate stained anything.....)
