French black and white film

I remember ages ago watching a film at bout midnight on channel 4. The film was made like a documaenty, was in black and white and french with subtitles. the film followed a man who killed random people and throw their bodies into some sort of lake. parts of the film i recall are killing a family and chasing after there son in the woods and then shouting at the camera people for no thelping him, killing some one on a train (opening of film i think), raping a women on a kitchen counter and killing her husband. Then at the end his gf is killed and we see a flute has been stuck in her bum and the same to his mum only with a broom. finally in some sort of warehouse we hear shots and everyone including camera people are killed, any ideas ??
