Throughout the whole match Kyrgios has played the usual pantomime villain and has been in the umpires ear the whole time.
Tsitsipas is losing points for code violations, Kyrgios has had no sanction.
He’s wound up his opponent too with 2 underarm serves.
Not seen a match this fractious in a long time.
If he progresses, Kyrgios can’t be allowed to get away with any more of this in the tournament.

Is there not a match supervisor or something who has overall control of the game? Someone should have come on to the court and warned him (or both) that if they continued they would both be disqualified.

They have been doubles partners so maybe that's where the issues come from. Should disqualify them both.

Not only is Kyrgios the most boorish player I've ever seen, he has some of the worst tattoos - his right arm just looks totally coloured-in, and his left not much better. What is the point?

I am glad I am not a neighbour of the Gribbens and note that the mother quoted is a teacher. Hmmmmmmm

I agree with Mrs Gribben.......or empathise with her.

I was watching a boring and one sided match with Nadal when they showed Kyrgios on the other court.
I switched over and never switched back to the Nadal game.

I find Kyrgios, rude, unsporting but a wonderful tennis player, entertaining and compulsive viewing (for me) .

McEnroe was certainly testing when it came to putting pressure on the officials, but Kyrgios takes it far past an acceptable level and getting up his opponents’ nose is beyond a joke ….the sooner he gets totally bored with the whole scene the better for everything !!

McEnroe at his worst wouldn’t have resorted to spitting at the crowd, throwing his bottle into his opponents bag, eaten food at a press conference nor resorted to childishly serving underarm just to niggle an opponent.
Kyrgios is bad for the sport and bad for its image.

Nadal is now a prisoner of his OCD and cannot escape. I find him almost unwatchable, too, but the clock counting down between points has speeded up his play somewhat.

I don’t see it as a mystery that figures are down.
There’s a cost of living crisis and public travel can be a nightmare.
Some have holidays as their main priority after the pandemic.
It’ll level back up in a year or two.

Fatticus, we are in total agreement here.

No sports player is greater than the sport. Wimbledon has a proud heritage and is the one championship all the players hanker to win. Bad-tempered players are ten a penny on any tennis court around the globe. Kyrgios' track record of causing trouble is absolutely shameful. His sort of behaviour is not what I and tennis-loving followers want to see. He needs to join a circus proper. He is the worst possible example for children learning to play the sport. I really hope that the umpires and referee stamp out any more disgraceful behaviour next week. The All England Club should have a re-think on allowing him to continue in the Championship.

Kyrgios was banned for 8 weeks when at the Shanghai Masters 2016, promised to behave then! He has mental issues from his younger days - doubt if he will change but, after yesterday, the All England Club must decide whether or not he should stay in this Tournament.
