Sun's low. Sparrow gangs are mobbing my overgrown grass looking for seeds and grubs to eat. Swallows are whistling in packs chasing after the evening's insect meal. Grapes (Baco variety) are green and small. 18 day radish seeds will germinate in a couple of days. Village wine merchant is bringing me six bots of Beaujolais 'Nouveaux' (actually several years old) tomorrow morning. Feu de Saint Jean now over (Mrs A went dancing round the fire with a Belgian woman while I propped up the buvette chatting with the mayor.)
And yet... Am I happy?
Are any of you happy?

No, I didn't, Pasta. I'm not used to all this pictogram stuff. I'll try to be more observant in future; it might keep me out of more fights.
BTW, I was a tad insensitive in saying "old wife's tale" - it might have been taken as implying that you're an old wife. "Old wives' tale" might have been broadre brush and more polite, although it might be considered sexist.

Ah! Jura smiled but didn't wink. Maybe she means what she says! ;-)

Sounds quite idyllic there, Atheist.

Spice; it's good to be away from the news and the telly and the filthy London air and to be in a small community with everything essential a few steps away. Everybody in the street knows us and we know them, and it's a small friendly village much like most villages in the world. No-one rushes around ignoring the people they pass.
