I was only this morning (in GMEB) talking about my days living under Heathrow's flightpath. Now I stumble across this article from the Evening Standard. Talk of the devil indeed.

That might well be because I was brought up in Suffolk, at the height of the cold war, when we had USAAF jets almost constantly roaring overhead.
I'm not alone though. The town where I live now is just down the road from what was RAF Wattisham. (It's now the Army's largest helicopter base in the country). I've heard many, many people here say how much they miss the roar of the Phantom jets constantly flying in and out .
