I bought two tins of mackerel this morning at a local supermarket. Glancing at the receipt I see they were £2.09 each. It seems no time ago they were 89p a tin.
Own brand beans, at 39p a tin, have disappeared from the shelves but there are plenty of Heinz beans available at 99p.
How are people coping with these prices rises?

I've seen Branston recommended. I tried them many years ago and liked them. Also tried Tescos own brand...which we used for quite a while. I never buy beans anymore so they may have changed.

Is it affecting how many meals a day you eat, Android?
At Aldi, tinned mackerel is less than £1 per tin.
It must be awful for large families trying to cope with this cost of living rise. Some of us only/lonely people are getting by ok. Well I am thank goodness.
