Has anyone actually managed to read this whole book?? I’ve started it 3 times and got a couple of chapters in before giving up! It’s just so ….wordy!! A sentence that could take say 15 words he uses 50,and in the end it gets so complicated that you forget what the sentence was even about! It was bought as a present tho and I really do want to try and finish it but god it’s hard work!

Yes, I found it hard going in some places, but I am such a huge fan that I was prepared to overlook it and thoroughly enjoyed the book. I would persevere Smo - well worth it.

Hi Shirley! Yes Ive started it AGAIN lol. Hope you are well? X
I agree. If I remember correctly it gets better further in?
Yes, I managed but it was tough going in places. The second book is even wordier.
Keep at it Smo. Thanks for asking, but I'm not too good at the moment, got a few health problems which are going to need sorting sooner rather than later. I don't want to say further at the mo.
I write and my sole aim is to cut the wordiness and get to the point. But some readers love to browse through long descriptions. To me, a sky is a sky; if I'm told it's a mackerel sky, then I get it, but some like to read the loving detailed descriptions of mackerel colours etc.
Best to find writing that you enjoy.
