How To Turn And Idea Into A Product

If you are a total beginner where would you go to learn how to make a product from an idea. The idea is to put together two existing products to make something I cannot find online that anyone else has considered. But how to you find help to design and create it without someone with more knowledge and experience picking it up and running with it? And confidentiality agreements etc are not going to help. The legal system doesn't work well enough to give it a look in. I am wondering of there are any groups or courses or websites that set out well-trodden steps to making a prototype?
