Is there a way to remove permanent marker from a laminated football? I recently bought a new football, blew it up and very proudly marked it, only to discover a few hours later (after no use) that it was losing air - it has a hole so we have to take it back. Please help!!!

I shouldn't worry about the fact you've marked it.

Explain to the shop what has happened, exactly as you've described on here. It is not of merchantable quality and therefore you are entitled to your money back. Hopefully the shop wil exchange it or give you your money back in full - I presume you still have the receipt. Only accept a credit note if you are happy to do so.

Should you have any problems then contact your Trading Standards office.
we have this problem on white boards, we go over the permanent marker with a non permanent marker and then wipe with a cloth. might work on leather too
A dry wipe marker pen also removes permanent pen from a white board so maybe on a ball too?
Nail varnish remover is good a removing stuff like that.

Good luck I hope you get the problem sorted.
I find white spirit good at removing a number of stains and also sticky residue from glues and sellotape. Not sure whether it would affect the laminted finish though.
