Is there a better explanation of the error message with the s/w - assuming that's where the message originates ? It could mean many things although it tends to suggest number of concurrent TCP sesions.
Thanks for such a quick reply Billy.
Yes - I am streaming over a 4mbps broadband connection.
The message does originate from the s/w - the full text is:
Tvants failed to open the channel with the internal player.
Would you please try the system default media player?
This behaviour is generally caused by the half open TCP connection count limitation of the operating system, typically Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003 SP1.
We strongly recommend you enlarge this limitation for better network performance and to make the internal player work.
Please visit our website (http://www.tvants.com) for more information. (Website is in Chinese unfortunately!)
First off it is probably worth having a look here ;
http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php - specifically at the TCP/IP Optimiser. The documentation is pretty comprehensive and will take you through all sorts of parameters that you can change from the default values.
See how you get on. What is the software package you are using ? Are you on XP SP2 ?
I'll do some more digging around.
