In these 'woke' times, everyone is terrified of offending people, and one sure way to do that is to presume that they are heterosexual.

Of course, the chances are that they are - nothing to do with wokeism, that's simply the way society is balanced - but heaven forbid that you should give someone an attack of the vapours by daring to presume such orientation.

Probably the best way around it is to talk about the weather - that's stood the British in good stead for hundreds of years.
