Injured My Knee From Leg Press Machine And Don’t Know What The Damage Is?

Hi I injured my knee few months ago from leg press and the pain comes and goes. I could go for a quick run and no problems then it’s comes back again. I could be walking and my leg would just go, I’ve noticed a small pea size ball under my skin at side of my knee, anyone familiar with what this would be? I was hoping it would heal by itself but it’s looking like il need to see a doctor

As Jennyjoan indicates, Sqad is our resident medic. (He's actually a retired ENT guy but he's brilliant at diagnosing almost anything - or so it seems, anyway!). Hopefully he'll see your post and respond.
However my own (totally unqualified) guess is that you've torn the meniscal cartilage in that knee, resulting in the formation of a meniscal cyst on the side of it:
