Hi Sqad - I have been in a lot of pain for about 5 weeks now and my locum doctor diagnosed me over the phone with osteoarthritis of the knees.
He gave me 2 rubs, steroids, naproxen etc but nothing is helping.
Am just in from the park with Maxie - I can let him off the lead but I can't walk - should I push myself against the pain or any advice would be helpful.
thanks

Follow the instructions that the tablets prescribed by tour doctor recommends.
Exercise? The modern tendency for Osteo arthritic pain in the knee seems to be exercise........but one is not told what this means in practice.
My advice would to go easy on the exercise, but be guided by the pain. If it becomes intolerable then stop exercising for the tme being.

JJ knee replacement is well worth it to get the relief. I have had my right knee replaced now waiting on my left which does not give me a second thought. The pain I have with my left is far far worse than ever my first was so looking forward to having it done. Codydromol and diclofenac works for me.I am also going in on the 23rd of August to get m knuckles on my right hand done. Now that I am not looking forward to.
^^^^ yous are all so brave - sorry to hear about you Giggsie re your knuckles - you are like my neighbour - she has had two hips "resurfaced" - something done with her knee and only for the Pandemic was supposed to get her toes broke and straightened this year. But she takes lots of painkillers and gets through the day - she actually never stops with 5 children and 15 grandchildren.
