I see adverts from people offering to wash my wheelie bin once a month for £4 and (different adverts) clean my roof.

My wheelie bins are clean and why would I want my roof cleaned?

If I do need to clean my wheelie bins I put buckets of hot water in with Jeyes fluid and use an old mop. Empty down the outside drain, leave upside down to dry out. Takes all of 10 minutes. I think I've done it two or three times over the years.
Yes, I just cleaned out our blue (bottles / cans / plastic) one the other day. We keep it (and the paper bin) in the garage. I've taped one of those cardboard air fresheners to the underside of the lid.
Do you not have a garden waste bin, Barry? Mine needed hosing every time it was emptied in the grass mowing season.
Pointless occupations? There's plenty of those in local authority offices.

gness, my garden waste goes in the compost, occasionally I take it to the tip. I don't have a lawn
Ahh, thank you, Barry. I had a huge lawn and no matter how dry the summer clippings stuck and the bin needed lugging down steps then to be hosed. My wheelie bin man was a blessing. :-)
A good while after I moved a chap came to ask if we wanted the service. I was delighted. He put a sticker on my bins...and that was the last I saw of him. :-(
