Our little local library supplies our craft group with a hot drink and biscuits for 50p. Not sure if they do it for individuals.

All this nonsense about keeping warm. I would guess from the age of most people on here that many grew up without central heating, often with just a coal fire. Why go to all the trouble of getting to a library to keep warm, when you could sit at home on the couch with a duvet or buy a blinking thick jumper and long johns. Before Christmas, due to the storms, we had no heating, lighting, or cooking for 4 days. Hot water bottles and the duvets off the beds are a no brainer for keeping warm, why are people making such a fuss?

Loads of libraries round here, all well stocked.

Whether or not they want greasy sandwich and tea stains all over the place is another matter though.

Anyway, if your that broke you wont have any food to eat or a flask to fill.

How did you manage to fill the hot water bottles Schippetc.?
All our local libraries are closing but the railway station waiting room is quite warm and there's always people there to have a conversation with and a big pile of Metros to read.

^^^^Easy, we had a ring on the gas BBQ outside so all our food was cooked either on the BBQ or on the ring. including hot water for drinks and hottle wottle bottles
