Surely the film Terminator has a paradox in it?

The guy who protects Sarah Connor is sent back by John Connor, Sarah's son. Later in the film they get it together before he gets killed, then next thing she's pregnant. Yet surely John would never have been born if the bodyguard hadn't been sent back - by himself???

There's also one in T2 - Judgement Day...

Yup, definite paradox. Good init??
There is a paradox in both films, but if you over-analyse fiction you remove the fun of it, so it's probably best not to bother, and just enjoy the films for the excellent movies that they are.
I think the point is regardless of what they do Skynet still comes into existence so unless it's eradicated, John O Connor and Kyle Reese cannot cease to exist. Here's the one that will really boil your brain, Skynet exists because Cyberdyne uses the technology scavenged from the first Terminators arm, the advances they make were only possible because of this, is your brain hurting yet?

Yup! And I do agree with you too Andy, there are lots of films like that, just thought I'd point these two out!
Any story involving time travel requires total suspension of the part of your brain that picks out these impossible occurrences. I watched Back to the Future again the other day. Marty comes back to 1985 to see himself going to 1955 for the first time. How's that work then eh Mr Zemeckis?! Doesn't stop them being great fun films though.
i like the film but cannot understand how the robots even existed in the future when they were created by arnies arm which was found in the crusher thing after the first film.
