My wife is the subject of a disciplinary matter, and has been suspended for 7 weeks. All that I have found through ACAS is that normally, suspension should last no more than 5 days, but it mentions that different time scales may apply to companies of varying size, but it doesn't go any further than that. I am convinced that it will end up going to tribunal, and that she will win, but in the mean time, we are gathering information to take to her union rep, ( who has been off sick!).
