My inexpensive drinking glasses are looking a bit sad from dishwasher washing, can anyone suggest a product that would sparkle them up a bit? Thankyou for any advice

I asked this a while back and none of the suggestions worked, I did happen upon a stiff, non-scratch 'sponge' affair in Aldi this afternoon which removed some of the deposit though, only if you're looking for a project though. We're going down the 'get new glasses and hand-wash them' route.

The surface of inexpensive glassware can become damaged by cleaning in a dishwasher (the hot alkaline washwater actually etches the surface of the glass causing cloudiness - which is not reversible).
However, if it it merely slight deposits of hardness salts - use any dilute acid to remove it (like vinegar).
My money's on my first idea though.
