18th birthday trip

Where would be good to take my daughterfor the weekend for her 18th? Looking at flying from Bristol, but can't decide where would be good in December. Any thoughts?

What sort of things is your daughter interested in? Has she studied any foreign languages? Does she like history? Snow? Mountains? Beer? etc.

For my 18th my sister said she'd take me to Prague. (Still hasn't happened yet though!)

I thought that was great, a lot of people (including me!) have been to France, Spain and Germany before, but not the Czech Republic. Prague is meant to be a beautiful city, everything's cheap, and it's different from the european countries that are more usually visited.

Amsterdam will be great in December if you don't mind the cold. There is plenty to do and see and it is great for Shopping, Plenty of resturants and entertainment in the Evenings. Took my daughter there last year and she loved it, but it will be just a little colder than the Uk is in December.

If it's just for the weekend you don't want to spend too much time flying so what about Dublin? Good shopping, good night life, pubs and restaurants, Tour the brewery and the open top bus tour to see the City?

I was trying to use the list of places to fly from Bristol as inspiration. Would have been a lot easier if she had been born in the summer!
Had a cold and wet break in Dublin a few years ago, and that was in August, so I'm a bit worried about wandering round in a cold wet December trying to have fun!
Will research Barcelona, Amstedam and Prague.
PS to KebabM, Yes, she is studying history, but we're not too keen on museums.
Had also thought about EuroDisney.

Not sure how much you want to pay but Fred Olsen cruise lines have a 3 night mini cruise on 16th Dec for around �300 each and remember this is your transport, food and hotel price all in one.

Fred Olsen? For an 18 year old? Smells of p!ss and cabbage. Dull. Dull. Dull for anyone below 78. Try Venice. 2 hours from Bristol.
