Hermes Faked Delivery

Bought some goods from eBay and was sent via Hermes. Delivery status states it had been delivered. But no sign of it. Checked CCTV and not seen anybody.
Any suggestion? I would not be able to dispute with eBay/seller as Hermes says it has been delivered. It's look like the courier is a scam.

You do need to start a dispute - then the seller will have to request proof of delivery from Hermes (not just the status, actual proof by photo or signature). If Hermes can't provide, then the seller claims from Hermes and reimburses you.

Hermes in called Evri now so could be a scam if they're using the Hermes name.

The seller provided a photo of someone else door steps. Look like it has been delivered to an incorrect address. But I am suspicious if this photo is a genuine photo of the parcel or from a random photo provided by the courier. The parcel should be a box containing a seperate CD player. The parcel shown is a jiffy bad of a small item.

eBay usually tends to side with the buyer - if the 'proof' looks wrong then you need to push the dispute to eBay rather than the seller.

O had a chat with eBay customer service and told them the facts I gathered. They raised a dispute on my behalf and they said it's upto the seller to resolve it with the courier. Oh well I do hope I get the item or get refund.

Do you have a tracking number as Hermes/Evri should have one.

What proof of delivery does Evri have?

A while ago my sister was waiting on a delivery and the courier said it had been delivered. They contacted the driver who confirmed it had been delivered.

It turnt out it HAD been delivered but to the house number on the next street.

Yes the tracking says it has been delivered. But I can't see the details of the photo shown g the delivery. However, the seller provided me the photo, maybe the seller (sender) has the ability to see the evidence of delivery, but not the buyer (receiver).

Some couriers take a photo of where they left a package or describe where it was left.

If you have the tracking number and there's a photo, it might have been left somewhere unusual if it's not too big or even in a bin if it's bigger.

I'm sure it'll turn out to be an honest mistake. I mean who's going to risk their job to steal outdated technology?

Do you recognise anything in the photo as being at your address?

I was waiting for something once but the courier said I hadn't answered the door and it had to be signed for so it went back to their depot.

They had a photo to confirm they had been but the photo was of the neighbour's door.

The item's value if over £400. It is a vintage collection. It may not worth anything for some, but that was what I paid for.

Difficult as no one seems to sign for anything anymore. The delivery person could've just shoved it through the letterbox if it was a small package after taking the photo if it.

It would be an idea to take a photo of your front door and steps and send it to the seller.

If you can, take a photo of the neighbours doors and steps (let them know what you're doing) to show it's not gone there either.

Does the photo show any of the door? If so, you might see it on Google Street View.

Have a look at the streets on each side of yours to see if you see the door in the photo.

If it's £400, I would have expected to have to sign for the delivery so did the seller not arrange that?

Just got message from seller and confirmed that the item was delivered to a wrong postcode. I think the seller have to wait until tomorrow now to contact Hermes. I hope it will be resolved. I will report back on the outcomes.

I don’t trust Hermes.

“We left in the porch” - there was no porch. Nor was the package anywhere on the property! Property was up a private road, so any vehicle would have been noticed.

“We tried to deliver but no answer” - no answer because they never turned up - relative would have seen them pass the window.

Need I go on!
