I've always known the Queen's birthday because it's the same as my mums! Now I've just had to look up the Kings birthday....14th November!

He most certainly will. The origin of the Monarch's "official" birthday goes back to 1660 and King Charles II. It became official in 1748 in the reign of King George II. But it was King Edward VII who finally determined the tradition. His birthday was in November and the King wanted to celebrate when the weather was better, so he decided to have his official birthday ceremony, known as the Trooping of the Colour, in June from then on.
