Does anyone have any experience of sending a thank you letter after having an interview, its something i must say ive never done! But has anyone had any success with this? to me the idea seems a bit silly but you may prove me wrong!
unless they have asked you to send further information, with which you could combine a thank you letter, or if you have another reason to contact them, i don't think you should send just a thank you.
having said that i doubt it would hurt the application, as long as it was worded well, so i suppose it couldn't hurt.
its just hard to judge how its taken - to some it would seen a polite, to some its crawling...
That's an American site.
Wouldn't British employers think it pushy and smarmy?
Unless that was the kind of person they were looking for (salesman etc.)
Yeah - admittedly it is an American idea but personally i would give anything a go if it gets you noticed enough for a job......
My daughter recently applied for a job, (here in UK) - went for the interview and was told they would send application forms etc in the post - she didnt hear anything for over a week so she emailed them, and was offered the job on the basis that she was the only person seen on the day of interview that bothered to contact them afterwards....so it can pay to follow up.
