Sleeping Flat On Back - Ideas

ive realised if i sleep on my back, straight, not bent at all, head straight up not leaning, i wake up with far less pain.
i can bend my knees up as long as theyre not at any angle & i can lie bent at the waist, as long as its straight - like the position those electric beds put you in - like an 'angled N - if you get me :D

I have hypermobility so my bones & joints are weird & any time im not sitting, standing, or lying completely straight i get pain.

However, its quite hard to do, the instinct & desire to roll over is strong

sleeping wedged with cushions works great - when they stay where i want them too, but they dont & move & its hard to get them in a place where i will be able to stay like that all night comfortably.

i feel i need some formed bed topper or something, but how? where from? how do i make one?
whats the best stuff to use etc etc

does anyone have any tips or know of any products etc to help me with this - i really feel this could make a big difference to me - im on almost constant pain killers so this is a big deal for me to get right.

I also get horrendous neck twinges - i literally scream out loud, & i have done it in my sleep a couple of times - they make me feel terrible for a few days afterwards too.

so please help, any ideas even if you think theyre daft, tell me - it may lead to another idea!

thanks so much :)

can you just put a pillow under your knees?
A body pillow, amongst other things is recommended...

the other thing i was thinking was about you getting an adjustable bed frame, or even electric bed?
TheMighty.com is a community support forum for people with health issues. This page is from their website, which states that the products mentioned have been recommended by forum members with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. (However I can't be 100% certain that there's not some element of advertising involved here. I'll leave it to you to decide whether the products might possibly be of value to you).

The links go to the US version of Amazon but most of the products are likely to be available on Amazon UK as well:
