Apparently this just follows protocol, though it may sound harsh. Contracts specifically state that the posts come with a condition that, with a change in the status of the then Prince Charles, the working contracts end. Every employee is aware of this and have been consulted over time. Some are to choose to retire, some will take voluntary redundancy and others will be moved to other roles with the Royal estate. My only thought is that this would have been better been made public after the Queen's funeral though I suspect it may be the case that an employee has spoken to the media.
