My PC is set to sleep overnight and the restart with any key next morning. On two occasions this last week the tower has flickered into life but the monitor wouldn't follow. I had to close the CPU and do a restart,IS THIS THE COLD WEATHER?
My local computer shop said to try doing a shut down rather than leaving to go to sleep. --This was fine for a couple of days but then same problem occurred. --------Last night just left the PC to go to sleep---both tower and monitor came on normally this morning after a key press. !!! baffled.
I have found that when I move the mouse first thing in a morning, CPU comes to life as I stated before (without the screen coming on)---but then if I leave for 20/30 mins, the monitor then comes on when I move the mouse again. It seems that the monitor is a heavier sleeper than the CPU!!!---any ideas?
Further to my question last Winter----I have not had any problems over the Summer months (monitor coming on with the CPU)---but two days ago it has started to need a "warm up" again. Do you still not think that the lower temperature in the room is causing the problem?
P.S. During the rest of the day (whilst the monitor is set to go off after 30 mins.---) it comes back on without a problem when the mouse is moved.----It's just the over-night sleep that causes the problem!
