Got back late last night to find my darling Brice at the entrance to my driveway.
It appears he had been hit by a car.
I am truly broken by this.
Today we will be holding a funeral for him and trying to rally round in time to pick up the hounds.

He'll be up there (or actually, probably down there) with ASBO, creating merry hell. RH - one the hardest things I did was bury ASBO. It is still raw as hell, but trust me - as the days go by it will get better. Try and hang onto the fact that he had an amazing life with you and Mr RH, and was loved so much. In time, the memory of you finding him will fade but the memories...

Am so sorry. Poor lad. No animal should go like that. My heart is heavy for you xx
I'm sorry to read of your loss, Helen. (It makes me remember how I felt when my darling Biscuit was killed by a car nearly two years ago).

Thank you everyone especially those that have suffered such a shock too.
We held a burial this morning, picked the dogs up this afternoon and Jess cried when we got home took over an hour to settle down. Heartbreaking
I'm very sorry to read of your sad loss, ((RH)) x
Sorry for your loss. Pets have a place in our hearts, too.
So very sorry. My very favourite cat, Alice, died in a cattery. The cattery she always went to and where she was so happy. She just died in her sleep at 13 years old. I don't know who was more upset, us or the lady who runs the cattery. Vet said that cats are prone to sudden death syndrome. We got a phone call and cut short our holiday to come home. A rotten end to your holiday, Helen. Take care xx
So sorry to hear this, Helen. Poor little Brice :o(

My condolences on your loss.
RIP little furbaby xx
So very, very sorry. What a horrible thing to come home to. The more you put into an animal, the more you get back and the more it hurts when they die/are killed. Cats cannot always be protected, sadly, and they would hate it if you tried. Brice obviously had a very good life, hold on to that.
I hope that the little thug doesn't 'rest in peace'. I hope that he is going to party with the lady cats, get stoned on cat nip, trash car paintwork and kill any little furry that moves.

Prince Archie just sounds so wrong!
Sorry, wrong thread.
That is a lovely post, Barmaid.
tragic news - no cat killed this way here but a young dog hit by some 'kid' in a Ford Expedition and doing close to 50mph in a 20 zone. I still see him as a total barrssteward.
So sorry to hear this sad news about the puss, sincere condolences to you. x
The same happened to my little chap. I came back from shopping to be met by a neighbour on my doorstep. Left in the road, still alive, driver never stopped, one neighbour kindly picked him up off the road and another brought his dead body to me. I so wish I could have been with him at the end after 10 years together. Such a funny little chap.

So sorry RH, it comes with having pets I'm afraid.
