There is quite a lot in the dailies
The law is straightforward - if the police think ( 'aver') that they are in danger of being shot at, then it is lawful for them to shoot and kill.
There have been several lengthy cross-examinations on why men reached for guns they knew they didnt have...starting with the Gibralty shootings of 1988
This time, the police shooter was suspended within a day or so. Like the doctor suspensions of the GMC, this is known to be neutral and NOT the first act in an inevitable striking off. And allows guilt free and free and fair investigation
The minorities have been revolting because we are in a post-Stephen Lawrence era - and much less prepared to put up with the usual nonsense. Post-Boris, Gully would say, but I dont want this post filtered by a fair-minded mod.
The police are known to hold Chinese parliaments where the squad's story is agreed.
My own completely unsupported view is that they viewed the body cam footage- since we are in an oops-sozza-sarge-I-forgot era, and found it went against ( refuted) the agreed story
I have no evidence to support that statement
