As my lovely wee friend called it - I went for an x-ray on the pins today in the 'ospital.

I did double check they were open and of course they were. Down I walked along a corridor then turned to the right.

Not a bird, chicken, lamb or cow was to be seen - says I to myself - there's a mistake here.

On the left there was a "receptionistic looking area" - but it appeared dark. Ventured a little more down the corridor and there SHE was - a lady/receptionist sitting in the dark and only lit up by the light of her computer. Couldn't believe it I saw a human figure never mind the above animals. Spoke to her - she answered quite evasivily ( I was apologising for being too early - half hour early but I was prepared to wait. Oh no she said you're ok, next an xa-raya person - just a kid - called me within seconds and done my xa-raya.

Where was everybody else, where was everybody's appointments, - were they all watching the queenio, queenio, who's got the ball i o.

Me - I got the ball i o - Never was in and out of an appointment as quick in my life. If I could walk as quick tho. That was my day today. This is a very big serious hospital.

Where were the doctors, nurses, patients, cleaners, AND THERE WAS NOBODY THERE - only ME -

Watching tv .
good day for it then, jj. I suppose you're lucky they hadn't just closed the entire hospital.
You only needed the receptionist and radiologist, but good for you jj. Early doors for home time.
Oi jj I was the champion at Queenie in our street as a kid ;-). Well done with the In n out at the hospital ( makes a change doesn't it ). Similar thing with a friend of mine and I happened Sunday evening, last Thursday she had a phone call from our local hospital asking her if she could make it for a MRI scan at 6.50pm on Sunday. She doesn't drive so I volunteered to take her, not a lot of traffic about and could park anywhere you like it being a Sunday so was there about 20mins early. She booked in with the receptionist and two mins later was called in for scan 20mins later she was out all scanned up. 5mins later we were in 'Mother Hubbards' eating a delicious fish and chip supper, if there is a 'Mother Hubbards' near you give them a try the fish and chips are great ( even better than Rick Steins over priced but very nice fish and chips down in Padstow ).

good morning - nah ah sadly - don't think we have a Mother Hubbard here. But we do have quite nice fish and chips in Raffos - just up the road from me.

Isn't it funny I can only eat fish Monday Wednesday or Friday. Must the oul Catholic in me LOl
I've just waited 90 minutes for a 20-second X-ray. Shoulda gone to your hospital, jj.
