Beta Blockers?

My Consultant has recently put me on beta blockers (25mg lowest dose) for an irregular & rapid heartbeat. This is until I have an op to regulate it. The tabs have indeed slowed the heartbeat down, but so has everything else! They've made me feel extremely tired/ lethargic/zombified. Anyone else had the same experience & did you persevere in taking them? Thanx.

It's OK folks, my Consultant's sec just phoned me & asked me to stop taking them until my test results come back. Thanx anyway.
You weren't being ignored smudge, but I imagine as you were already under the care of a Consultant we were wary of poking our noses in - glad it's been sorted, and very good wishes for the op. :-) PS. They do have a tranquilizing effect.

Thanx for that Cetti, it's nice to know others care! My Consultant is obviously a very busy man, but should have made me aware of the possible side affects, when prescribing them to me! Apparantly I have Wolf, Parkinson, White, (an extra electrical connection in the heart) which is quite common. The op will zap that, rectifying the problems I've been experiencing. Cheers!
...from my experience the extreme tiredness only lasts about a week.
