Got no hot water until the council
get a plumber on Friday!
Reported that my boiler had given up the ghost Friday just gone.
Was told that the earliest that they could get to me was Tuesday.
Working TUE, WED, THUR...
So Friday it is!
(IF, they decide to turn up...doubtful going on past experience)
God, I would give anything for a bath right now.
A strip was with a kettle of water just isnt the same.
Speaking of replacement boilers cost us last year upwards of a thousand pounds for ours. Neighbour down the road got in new boiler and radiators at no cost because she gets pension credit. Seemingly loads you can get free if you get this benefit.
naomi, you're right. Sometimes I wish I had a landlord I could call up to sort out problems with the house. Finding a good tradesperson, an honest seller is the stuff of nightmares for me. Tradespeople not even turning up to give quotes, workers not turning up at all. Start all over again. Bill much higher than the quote...
A 'simple' job can take weeks to sort. All the good tradespeople I used to rely on have retired.
When i had the problem i boiled water on my oven hobs twice in three large cooking pans for the bath, it was not as full as normal but enough to do the job.
Could you use your local swimming baths for a hot shower if you're that desperate?
When my wife and I had no hot water for a few weeks we used one bowl of hot water (each) and put the bowl in the bath. We managed just fine.
