Gas And Electric Tariffs
19 Answers
With my fixed rate deals coming to an end on 1st October, I've just looked online at what my supplier (E.ON Next) is offering. No fixed rate deals at the moment, so my gas unit price would increase from 3.1p to 14.76p per kWh - an astonishing 365% - and the electricity standing charge up from 18.2p to 49.15p per day.
It does say that those figures have not factored in the recent help the government has offered, but those figures are eye-watering.
Have any ABers found anything better than this, or is everyone being hit to the same extent?

My Gas: 6.987 per unit
with a 25.92 daily standing charge
My Electricity: 26.577 per unit
with a daily standing charge of 47.67
My monthly payment has already gone from about £70 to £120 and I expect it to rise further.
For someone on a restricted income or someone with kids (or heat-hungry cats), it must be frightening not knowing if they can afford the extra costs.

Thanks for the replies.
Maydup, those capped figures seem better, but not that much - are they the final ones, do you think, or is there more to come? The increases are almost unbelievable, especially so for me as my payments have not gone up at all as yet because I'm on fixed tariffs. I've heard nothing from E.ON Next.

I've just spoken to someone at E.ON Next, and they said that the unit prices for electricity and gas are now likely to be about 33p and 10p, although they don't yet appear on the quote on my online account.
This seems to agree with what Martin Lewis suggested last night. Has anyone had confirmation from their supplier of their new tariffs?
No change to the outrageous standing charges, though.
