Two Unconnected Questions For Sqad

Has your wife used the air fryer? If so, review please.

According to the blurb within the packaging, we must not take bog standard chalk based indigestion tablets if we are taking NSAIDs. Why? Am I killing my oldsters?

Hi barry, sorry, I have just seen your reminder.
No she is still reading the instructions which she finds quite confusing at times and she will resist experimentation and, but when she does, I will give you ana update.......if you would remind me ;-)

Right , Nsaids and old fashioned indigestion tablets.
There is some suggestion, some suggestion, that antacids inhibit or accelerate the absorption of Nsaids from the stomach........some suggestion. It would appear that whether it is diminished or accelerated depends on what the antacid contains.....magnesium or aluminium ....I can't remember which is which ;-)

Now one has to be sure that one isn't taking the antacid for indigestion which may indicate an ulcer in which Nsaids, may make worse.

My opinion? no, you are not killing your oldsters.

Thanks, Sqad. Happy to know I'm not killing them. Will have to have a rethink about treating the occasional but of indigestion. I was surprised to read that in the blurb.

barry...I am not sure that I have got to the nub of your post.
You wouldn't give Nsaids to a person with indigestion, so what am i missing here ?

He takes prescription ibuprofen for gout but also suffers indigestion now and again, usually relieved by chewing chalk based tablets.

Do you mean he takes Ibuprofen on a daily basis or only during attacks of gout?

The indigestion......this is not a common occurance or is a common occurance?

When his gout flares up, but those attacks seem to be getting longer, from a couple of days to a week.

Indigestion a couple of times a week. He eats several small meals a day, never a large meal.

Well, I would continue on the regime of Nsaids for the flare ups, but would certainly mention your concern to the DR.
The doctor might suggest replacing the Nsaid with either colchicine or alupurinol or both, for the gout.

No big deal, but just see what the doctor's feeling are on this matter.
